The castle was built around 800 years ago. Such a long period of time makes you wonder: What is really important? What did your ancestors leave us and what will we pass on? We feel obliged to future generations and have set sustainability as our highest goal.
To achieve this we buy produce, whenever possible, from the organic farms in the region. The logs that are used in the castle´s kitchen come from our own forest adjacent to the castle. There are guided tours through the garden during which you can experience the unique animals & plants that live here on serpentine rock.

The greenhouse
In 2025 we decided to reaktivate the old greenhouse on the castle´s premises to grow our own vegetables. The results are formidable and are served to our guests for breakfast. In the orchard we harvest cherries, apples, pears, plums and grapes and different berries like red currant or blackberries.
We are conducting tours through the castle´s garden to introduce you to the unique plants and animals that have found shelter and breeding grounds around the castle.
It is absolutely vital to know your own history. We are striving for the balance between tradition and modernism, between comfort and authenticity.
