When you grow up in a castle you start to thinking in generations. How could it be different with such a long history? It is our goal to hand over not only the castle but our planet as well it the best possible condition to the next generation.
To achieve this we buy produce, whenever possible, from the organic farms in the region. The logs that are used in the castle´s kitchen come from our own forest adjacent to the castle. There is a fruit garden on the castle´s grounds (and soon a greenhouse for vegetables). There are guided tours through the garden during which you can experience the unique animals & plants that live here on serpentine rock.
A castle sometimes asks for special solutions in that regard: Would not a heatpump be more efficient than a tiled stove? Of course. But we also have to consider our cultural heritage. It is of priceless value to know your own history. So we are seeking the balance between tradition and modernism, between amenity and authenticity.
